Hello
Hi, I’m Helen — a UK-trained Midwife turned Doula, passionate about supporting families through one of life’s most transformative journeys.
With over 25 years of experience in midwifery, I've supported births in a wide variety of settings — from high-tech hospitals in Cambridge and Tianjin, to rural mission hospitals in Congo, and home births across UK communities. Now, as a doula, I bring all that knowledge and compassion to help guide you through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood.
I believe every birth should be a positive and empowering experience. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, you deserve to feel heard, respected, and informed. My role is to walk beside you — to educate, encourage, and believe in you — so you can face this chapter with confidence and calm.
Birth can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. But with the right support, it can also be beautiful. I’d love to share my love for birth with you and help you build your own toolkit for a gentle, supported transition into parenthood.
Let’s walk this journey together. Please reach out if you feel I might be the right support for you.

My Story
My journey into birth work began in an African mission hospital, where I worked alongside a nurse-midwife and discovered my passion for supporting women and families. I trained as a nurse in Jersey and Southampton in 1990, and after five years of nursing experience, I began my midwifery training in Cambridge (UK) in 1996.
I’ve had the privilege of working across three continents — from rural clinics in Congo to leading obstetric hospitals in the UK and China. This wide-ranging experience has equipped me with a broad perspective and a practical, compassionate approach to care.
Prior to moving to Singapore with my husband and our youngest son I took a break from professional midwifery to support my family through new ventures and academic milestones, while continuing to guide friends and loved ones through pregnancy and postpartum. It was during this time I realised that this deeply personal, one-on-one support is the part of midwifery I love most. Becoming a doula was the perfect next step.
I now combine my clinical knowledge with a heart-led approach to offer families truly holistic, individualised support.
